Meet Emma Taylor, AKA "Creative Mary Poppins"

Meet Emma Taylor, AKA "Creative Mary Poppins"

Hi, my name is Emma Taylor and I am a member of The Cast.

I am the Founder and Director of Creative Advice Network, where I offer support and advice to companies and individuals within the Photographic, Advertising and Design sectors.

The best way to describe me is as a "Creative Mary Poppins". Except I fly in and help Creatives instead of miserable children not wanting to tidy their bedrooms.

My process

Most of my collaborations start with a 1hr consulting session, very much specific to the person I'm seeing. We chat through their work and plan a strategy for them and discuss where their next steps might be.

It's a very informal process. I tend to find most creative brains don't work in straight lines, but in zigzags and lovely loop the loops. Creating an informal, chatty environment allows the people I work with the space to find a way to discuss their ideas and worries in a way that is organic for them.

Why I love what I do . . .

I spent 7yrs working as a Photography Agent, which I loved. But you work with a fixed group of photographers and your hands are tidied on the projects & clients you work with.

By far and away the best thing about setting up CAN is the variety it offers me. I can pick and chose the projects I work, and now have a flexibility that allows me to help any creative soul in need of a helping hand.
