Meet Thea Tyvi
Hello, I’m Thea Tyvi, one of the founders of The Cast.
I am a freelancing Content Strategist, Production Manager and Web Editor. That means that I specialize in planning, managing, producing och publishing in various digital communication projects, big and small.
I have extensive experience working on projects involving global web sites, web campaigns, digital ads, mobile apps and social media planning. My expertise as a Content Strategist is editorial web content that based on user data and focused on problem solving.
I lecture at Berghs School of Communication where I’ve also recently been both Course Director and Program Director for the fulltime program Production Management. The most rewarding and challenging jobs I have ever had. As it should be working at the best communication school in the world.
To be able to work with stuff that is fun and always challenging always makes me proud. I never want to surrender, I can always reach further and get a little bit more.
Ethnology, expressions and behavioural science always fascinated me. Trying to understand what people do, why the do it and when never gets old.
To study and learn is one of the greater things in life. One can never know enough. I’ve studied a variation of things, from communication, project management to fashion, ethnology and language. I recently attended Stockholm University and a course in Finnish.
Three defining moments
1. Meeting the industry
I think now is the time to tell you the truth. When I got my first job in the industry, at Creuna Stockholm, I didn’t know what it was. I’m sorry. But that place led to so many changes, new friends/loves and both good and bad challenges that it defined everything that came after.
2. Losing my job
Everyone who have lost their job knows how tough it is. For me it was the end of a trying and evolving time at digital agency Deasign. Due to a bad financial situation we were 4 people who had to be let go, the first of many. Actually everyone lost their jobs when the agency went bankrupt. That’s when I got the idea of being my own boss. I wanted to work with content but none of the agencies knew what that actually meant. Content was something that they thought the client should produce and provide themselves. I pitched the idea to my boyfriend and 3 friends and they said: just do it already! To have people believing in me like that was new to me, and thanks to them I got the best job ever. And I still have it.
3. My friends
All I do is because of my friends, the people in my everyday life and my extended family. They are the ones who have made me realize that opportunity exists and that I can change things in order to be happy. Because of my friends I am more confidence, smarter and successful. I love them and owe them everything.
